Election Official: Starting in 1971 at Hornsby Heights Public School, I have worked at all State and Federal Elections until 2016.
Beginning at a table taking votes, progressing to Officer in Charge of Polling Booths and ending up as a Polling Place Liason Officer supervising up to 10 Polling Booths.
Back around 1986, I started our Neighbourhood Watch in Guildford as there was none and breakins to my house was a problem. After a few years, frustration set in as little seemed to deter residivists, some with 30 or more convictions still doing their thing.
With others from our NH group we set up CCLO, Concerned Citizens for Law and Order, to lobby our lawmakers to do something about it. Also frustrating. Nothing changed. That's when we sold up and moved to the mountains.
With daughter Erin performing with "Out of the Blue" in musicals held in Springwood, I looked after the Front of House arrangements for a few shows.
